The
name Ogham is derived from Oghma, the
Celtic God of elocution or fine
speech. Ogham is an ancient linear script
and is the first known written language of
Ireland. The Ogham alphabet consists of
groups of lines, from one to five, set
across a vertical stemline. Each group
represents a different letter. It
was used mainly in commemorative
inscriptions.
There are ancient alphabets that were
notched in stone, rude and primitive to
some but to us spare and hard and
passionate as love itself. And because
they speak to us across the centuries we
deem them timeless and in all honest
reverence invoke them to our art.
By having your name inscribed in Ogham you can share a piece of Ireland's
history as 2000 years later, this ancient
script is still in use.
Brian de Staic continues this great
tradition and you may have the
name of your choice engraved in Sterling
Silver, 10ct, 14ct or 18ct Gold.
